About

I am an artist, educator, organizer and writer of the Korean diaspora. I study creative writing, everyday journalism and media, performing arts, Daoist philosophy, traditional Chinese movement and revolutionary history and literature. As an artist, I principally create poetry, prose, theatre and dance. My art and my labors of love are informed by those fields of study and their intersections. Past classes/workshops include: "DIY Timepiece", "Actions with the Whole Body", "Anti-Singing Voice and Text Work", "Breath, Alignment and Energy in Performance", "Directing Yourself: Performance Composition".

My past several years have been devoted to building and bridging politicized, creative vehicles for artists of the global majority. I was organizing, directing and producing via art rat rat theatre, presently on hiatus. Some of my personal favorite projects produced for/with the art rat theatre community: theatrical Zoom productions of various scripted and devised works by and for young adult artists of the global majority; Pop-up Theatre and Dance shows, featuring new devised works by diasporan femmes in "Los Angeles" community parks on Tongva lands; the "U Don't Have 2 Write" virtual writer's group; "Body Double Cafe", a virtual co-working space; the Art Rat Festival 1 & 2. I am also the author of the self-published "25: Before, During and Shortly After", a diary chronicle in poems and prose.
