About

I am an ESOL Lecturer and Teacher Trainer, recognised as Coventry College Outstanding Teacher of the Year 2023. Currently pursuing a PhD on migration, mental health, and self-harming behaviour, I have a published chapter on trauma-informed practice.

My compassionate approach extends beyond academics, advocating for personal development, enrichment, employability, and lifelong learning. I actively engage in conferences, training sessions, and events to support disadvantaged youth. As the first YELD Ambassador in the UK, I empower young people, guiding them toward leadership, ambition, and future planning. I focus on enriching students' lives through social action and community engagement, organising work experience opportunities and community projects that instil purpose and practical skills. I am committed to environmental conservation and promote sustainable practices, fostering a holistic approach to ecological and personal wellbeing.

Collaborating with local stakeholders such as Coventry City Council and charities like Coventry Foodbank and Clothing Coventry, I provide students with valuable work experience and broaden their horizons, enhancing their personal development. My dedication to creativity and problem-solving has inspired my students and colleagues alike, with my recognition as part of the Highly Commended Volunteering Team of the Year at the Good for Me, Good for FE Awards.
