About

Born as Linus Ngha Beng Kwokom with artistic name of Bobo Leennox in the town of Bamenda, North West Region of Cameroon, Africa. Growing up with a passion for art (drawing, painting and dance) in a community where it was a taboo to venture into because a lot of myths, stigma had been embedded in the community, with my intuition l fought my way through as a self taught artist despite the stumbling blocks in a marginalised community. At 11 years old, I started representing at the elementary school in folk dance, drawing and painting but was bullied, harassed to withdraw. Years later I created the Community Youth Arts Center (COYAC) to empower children and youths in communities to use art as a tool for sustainability and improve creativity, improve self esteem and express themselves freely in a space void of harassment, but to positively use their abilities, creativity and craft to speak out and build the community through socio-cultural and socio-economic development. At COYAC we train young girls and boys is different art disciplines. I did my art education mostly as an apprentice practically after l left school with the sole purpose to give back to the community.
